The oncological treatment of patients with brain tumors presents an increasingly complex challenge. Affected individuals are typically confronted with questions that are rarely answered within the scope of a monodisciplinary approach.

Course of oncological care

After surgery, the histological analysis is evaluated, and each patient's case is discussed in an interdisciplinary tumor board. In this board, radiologists, pathologists, oncologists, and radiation therapists collaborate to recommend an individualized treatment plan for each patient according to current neuro-oncological guidelines. If necessary, chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy is initiated.

Long-term treatment requires regular imaging control—usually an MRI. This allows for the assessment of the response to the applied therapy and the timely detection of any possible tumor recurrence.
